With Vilfo, you can achieve complete control over your network and get automatic notifications sent directly to your phone for a variety of events. For instance:

  • in the event of a new firmware update
  • if Vilfo has automatically updated
  • if a new device connects to the network
  • if a group has successfully connected to a VPN
  • if a group disconnects from a VPN
  • when Vilfo has booted up, or if Vilfo is turned off.

Vilfo has a variety of different notification channels.

Pushover
Vilfo uses Pushover to deliver notifications to your phone and computer.

  1. Download Pushover for the device you wish to receive notifications on.
  2. If prompted, press Allow when asked if you wish to receive notifications from Pushover.
  3. If prompted, either login to Pushover or create a new account.
  4. In Vilfo, go to Settings -> Notifications
  5. Under Pushover, enter your user key provided by Pushover
  6. Press the Update credentials button
  7. Under Notifications, select the events for which you wish to receive notifications for. By default, all notifications are turned off. Pushover sends it to your Pushover-enabled devices.
  8. Press Update preferences when done.
  9. To verify that notifications work properly, press the Send test notification button.

Your Vilfo is now all set up to notify you about important network events.

Email
Vilfo uses Mailgun to deliver email based notifications. Notifications will be sent to the email address provided during Setup and is visible on the General page.

  1. In Vilfo, go to Settings -> Notifications
  2. Under Notifications, select the events for which you wish to receive notifications for. By default, all notifications are turned off
  3. Press Update preferences when done.
  4. To verify that notifications work properly, press the Send test notification button.
