1. Download OpenVPN Connect
The first thing you need to do is install OpenVPN Connect for Android.
2. Run OpenVPN Connect
When OpenVPN Connect is started for the first time, you will see:
Click On OVPN Profile.
3. Download the Vilfo configuration file for Android
Go to Menu -> VPN Server in Vilfo and press the Download config button.
You'll have the choice of choosing an operating system, and an OpenVPN version. Select Other systems as the operating system. As for the OpenVPN version, select OpenVPN 2.4 or newer.
4. Import the downloaded profile
There are two ways to add the configuration file you downloaded into OpenVPN Connect, you can either open it directly and choose to import it into OpenVPN Connect, or you can manually browse your files and add it.
Open and import the file
The first option is ideal if you downloaded the file directly onto your phone from the browser. Once you have downloaded the file in your browser, open the file and select the option Import with... and click on the OpenVPN profile option.
Add the profile manually
The second method can be done from inside the OpenVPN Connect application.
First, select the OVPN Profile option at the bottom of the application.
Secondly, navigate to the Download folder. and select the file vilfo.ovpn file that you previously downloaded.
Once you have selected the file, click on Import
5. Vilfo Credentials
Once you have imported the file, you will be prompted with a “Profile successfully imported” message.
Check Save password and enter the username and password you created under Settings -> Users in Vilfo. For more information about creating new users, see Adding new users.
Click on Add.
6. Connecting to Vilfo
Click on the toggle button next to your profile in order to connect to the VPN.
If you're met by an “Attention” message, check I trust this application and then click on OK.
You should now be connected to Vilfo's VPN server. You can now place the device in a group under Devices to safely browse the internet using your VPN provider just like you would any other device on your network.
