When Vilfo has been powered on, you should see an open WiFi network named Vilfo. The WiFi network runs on 2.4 Ghz.
- Connect to Vilfo using Wi-Fi or a network cable
- When connected, visit http://admin.vilfo.com
- Vilfo will automatically run a couple of tests now to ensure that it has been connected correctly to the internet. If there's an issue, Vilfo will let you know.
Configure the wireless network to your preference. We suggest using WPA2-PSK as encryption algorithm for your network.
The 5 Ghz band has higher speeds than the 2.4 Ghz band - however the reach of the wireless network decreases. These settings can be tweaked using the Channel setting as well later under the General tab.
The second thing you will need to provide when configuring Vilfo is your license key and email address. The license key was included in the package that Vilfo arrived in.
Enter a valid email address as your password resets will be sent to this email address as well as any notifications you decide to enable.
The second step is creating your admin account in Vilfo. A username and password is required and will be used when signing into Vilfo in the future.
The password you enter will also be the root password.
If your VPN provider is pre-integrated in Vilfo, you'll be able to select it here. By using a pre-integrated VPN provider you don't need to worry about OpenVPN configuration files or keeping track of which new servers they offer. Vilfo will automatically check for any new servers that the provider offers every day.
If you do not want to select a VPN provider, you can also press the Skip button at the bottom in order to skip this step and the next step.
Note: All integrated providers could not be fit in the screenshot. More than the displayed providers are pre-integrated into Vilfo. If you have any questions, email email@example.com.
If you choose a VPN provider in the previous step you can now enter your username and password for their service.
You've now configured Vilfo! Click on Continue to dashboard to discover all features.
